Medical Front Desk Receptionist
 

The individual should be able to do the following.

Welcome and check in and check out patients

Medical terminology knowledge is suggested but not required. Also some EMR experience is great, Eclinical is the current EMR system we use.

Knowledge of insurance companies and understanding policy information including eligibility and deductibles.

Taking credit cards and other forms of payment.

Be proficient in other office tasks: mail collection, package collection, clarifying patient information, understanding HIPAA rules and regulations, some medical knowledge is appreciated, not mandatory, comfortable with scheduling patient appointments with other providers and tests at local hospitals and imaging centers. Needs to understand faxing, filing, copying, scanning, and taking credit card payments.

Able to maintain the front reception area making sure clean and tidy for patient waiting.

Being calm under pressure as we are a small office and the telephone will be very busy.

Caring and welcoming personality is a must.
