Medical Assistant

Our practice’s medical team is looking for a reliable, well-organized Medical Assistant to join us. You will have an array of responsibilities that will allow us to continue to provide exceptional care to our patients, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, rooming patients, and assisting with visit preparation (taking vital signs and completing intake items). You may also administer vaccinations, perform EKGs, and other clinical duties.
 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Scheduling appointments

Answering and routing all phone calls, and making call backs as directed

Communicating and collaborating with the medical staff team

Maintaining detailed administrative and medical records in our EMR system

Preparing examination rooms and monitoring supply levels

Performing other medical and administrative duties as assigned, including use of word-processor, spreadsheets, email, and credit card terminal

Providing and coordinating office-based care, including preparing patients for examination, performing routine diagnostic tests and screenings, gathering patient history and vitals, and administering vaccinations and injections

Handling lab samples, including blood, urine and body fluids; drawing blood and performing EKGs and Spirometry

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate from an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program or currently enrolled

1-2 years of medical office experience and good knowledge of medical terminology

Experience with an electronic health record system

Availability to work full time Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 6:00 PM, and live within a reasonable commuting distance to our office

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Exceptional skills with decision making, multitasking, and prioritization

Team player attitude and desire to improve the health and wellbeing of all patients
